The Fisher-Price Smart Cycle is an awesome video game system for kids that combines exercise with entertainment. The Smart Cycle is a stationary bike that plugs directly into your television and has four modes of play. Your children can pedal their way to knowledge while playing along with favorite characters.
This game makes learning a fun experience as the Learning Adventure cartridge (included with cycle purchase) takes them through Math Mountain, Shape Lake, Letter Creek, Number Fields, and many more. Kids are not limited to just the included cartridge however, as many of their favorite characters have Smart Cycle games available starting as low as $17. Fisher Price claims that this game teaches letters, numbers, spelling, shapes, motor skills, and more.
A lot of kids’ favorite characters are available in different games that range in suggested ages from 3 to 6 years old. Some of the current games offered are: Hot Wheels; Dora, Diego & Dino; Scooby-Doo; The World of Cars; Thomas the Tank; DC Super Friends; The Penguins of Madagascar; Toy Story; SpongeBob; Shrek; Barbie; and many more. Most games also allow children to play against each other one at a time, but not simultaneously.
While the Smart Cycle has received some mixed reviews, the general consensus is that most parents and children like the exercise-learning-toy, but disliked its use of four D batteries to operate. The variety of games, with the learning capabilities as well as the fun play factor, make this a toy that will grow with a child for years. The cycle is available at major retailers, as are the corresponding video games.
