Looking for a new video game to check out? If you haven’t already heard, Japanese gaming company Square Enix is creating remastered versions of two of their games from the Final Fantasy series. Originally on the PlayStation 2, Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster ($39.99) will be available on the PlayStation 3 and the PlayStation Vita. Aside from changes in graphics and audio, what separates the remastered edition from the PlayStation 2 versions is the addition of more content such as side quests, optional bosses, new abilities, new dresspheres, and more. For those who have played the original versions of these games, Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster will make you feel the nostalgia as well as create a new gaming experience for you with all the new content.
For those who are new to the games, Final Fantasy X follows the story of a group of travelers who accompany a young summoner named Yuna on her pilgrimage to prevent an evil being called Sin from destroying the world known as Spira. Final Fantasy X contains a turn based style of battle and through these battles, characters can increase their strength by using the Sphere Grid.
Final Fantasy X-2 is the sequel to Final Fantasy X and begins two years after Yuna’s completed pilgrimage. This game stars Yuna along with two other companions who embark on a journey to discover more about an ancient sphere that carries some mysterious footage. Final Fantasy X-2 utilizes an active time battle system and a variation of the Sphere Grid known as the dress system. Characters acquire unique abilities through different dresspheres.
Although Final Fantasy is part of a long series of games, it is unnecessary to have prior knowledge of the previous games to fully enjoy playing Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster.
The game is set to release on March 18th so if you are interested in it, check it out here!
