Disney Introduces The Disney AppMATes For Apple iPad

Disney introduces the Disney AppMATes to use the Apple iPad as a virtual play mat. This new toy line features miniature Disney/Pixar Cars 2 vehicles with sensors on the base of each toy that has a special footprint by an app without the requiring cables or Bluetooth connection. Since the Cars 2 Appmates app is a free download on the iTunes app store, more money is saved for more toy editions. Each toy reveals different features and content within the app. This permits children to come back over again and again to enjoy a more imaginative experience. With this new toy, Cars 2 Appmates includes three major components: Exploration, Directed Game play, and Racing.

Exploration: The miniature Cars 2 vehicles can be driven around Radiator Springs to discover landscapes and hidden secrets by placing the Cars toy character on the screen and turning it in any direction. The virtual world is created to be incredibly realistic. The toy car can drive through mud, up ramps, visit other friends at Flo’s V8 Café, or check out its reflection to show off the latest gear and gadgets.

Directed Game Play: The cars can choose from a wide range of missions to undertake to win hubcups. More hupcups will allow access to special features—like a different horn sounds, customized tire tracks, and other cool gears (rocket launcher, spy vision goggles, etc.).

Racing: The rush of adrenaline will be experienced as the action is heightened during the World Grand Prix race. There are five racetracks available to launch: Willy’s Butte, Carburetor Mesa, or roar through downtown Radiator Springs.

Each character will cost $19.99.

The characters for the first introduction are: Lightening McQueen, Tow mater, Finn McMissile, and Holley Shiftwell. In November, two more additional characters will be introduced: Francesco Bernoulli and Shu Todoroki.
Other accessories will be available: iPad case with a Disney/Pixar Cars Design at $49.99, Disney Pix Camera to take pictures and connect to iPad to be personalized and collaborated into albums ($79.99), and a Disney Spotlight mic to encourage kids to sing along with their favorite Disney music ($59.99 for wired mic, $99.99 wireless mic).
