SCHOLASTIC MEDIA LAUNCHES I SPY ™ SUPER CHALLENGER FOR LEAPFROG’S LEAPSTER EXPLORER(tm)
Third I SPY Title for LeapFrog Mobile Learning Systems Released in Celebration of I SPY 20th Anniversary Year
NEW YORK – June 6, 2011 – Scholastic Media, a division of Scholastic Inc., the global children’s publishing, education and media company, today announced a new addition to its award-winning and best-selling I SPY ™ interactive franchise with the release of I SPY SUPER CHALLENGER for LeapFrog’s Leapster Explorer. I SPY SUPER CHALLENGER, for kids ages 5-9, will be available at retail in September for $24.99.

I SPY SUPER CHALLENGER combines I SPY’s intriguing photographs and riddles with fast-paced arcade style games. It will engage players in seek and find play with 50 different I SPY riddles across 20 different photographic scenes. Additionally, four replayable action-packed games will require players to race against the clock while using their thinking, matching, memory and math skills to solve unique I SPY puzzles. The riddles and games become more challenging with each new level unlocked.
The release of I SPY SUPER CHALLENGER for Leapster Explorer marks Scholastic’s third I SPY title released on a LeapFrog Mobile Learning platform. The previously released games, I SPY CHALLENGER and I SPY TREASURE HUNT, have collectively sold over one million units to date.
Since the first I SPY book, written by Jean Marzollo with photographs from Walter Wick, was published by Scholastic in 1991, the program has expanded to include 42 million books in print. Scholastic Media has developed the property into a best-selling global franchise – including an Emmy Award-winning television series that airs on HBO Family in the US – and has been sold in more than 30 countries worldwide.
